Did anyone else watch the rerun of Oprah's staff taking the vegan challenge yesterday? I've heard it makes you a better pooper.
I decided to read up on the topic.
And then, I read some to Mama.
I learned from my reading that a vegetarian diet is normally fewer in calories and fat--pro for my model diet, con for what the doctor says. I do like a good bit of tofu, but I am already a good pooper. Pee-Ess Look at those lashes!
I discovered the joy of eggs today. I guess that marks me out for the vegan challenge. And I guess I drink my fair share of milk, which will hopefully beef me up so I can some day turn my car seat around. Mmmmmm milk....
Side note: No guesses for this post?? Where are my readers?? Slackers...

i found a present.
It was wrapped up all nice and neatly.
So, I tried to see what was inside.
Then, she took it away. Maybe it's for my birthday...I guess I'll have to wait and see. I am so excited!

my not so little project.
I've been drooling lately over some quiet books I've seen on super crafty ladies' blogs. I get to looking and thinking, "Oh, I can do that!" It's kind of a problem. My Craft List of Things to Do is a million miles long (yes, it's a real list--my list making problem is for a whole nother post...and yes, "nother" is a real word).
I saw a color book on Etsy and thought it would be a super easy peasy project I could do in a couple of days--kind of as a prep for my upcoming quiet book marathon. Scraps, felt, ribbon, and hot glue...what could go wrong?
Nothing went horribly wrong, except that I have the sewing machine from hell. No, really. It's possessed. I tried to sew a couple inches and it kept binding up on the bottom.
I take the bobbin out.
I put the bobbin in.
I rethread.
I sew.
It binds.
Repeat...about 20 times. Mixed in with turning some knobs.
I threaten to kick it's %^&*( to the curb. It works.
Anywho. I finished. I don't know how long it actually took me with having to clean up my mess every time Scarlett decided to wake up early from her nap. I think I collectively spent half the time cleaning up and taking out and the other half trying to get that possessed junk to sew.
Isn't it beautiful?
Just take a moment and bask in it's beauty...
Okay. That's enough basking for one day.
The velcro flowers are stored in the cover and baby matches it to the right page. So clever, right?
I have a feeling I won't be showing you my finished quiet book until sometime next year by the rate this project went. Just know I will be cursing my sewing machine all along the way.

Meet Titus.
This is Titus. He's 3 months older and probably weighs twice as much as I do.
He likes avocados, long walks around the neighborhood, and blowing raspberries.
I was excited when he came over today.
He just sat there like a goon though.
And I felt kinda dumb about being overly excited.
I tried to play it cool.
We played with my ball popper.
And he made faces behind my back.
Then, I showed him how to turn Sesame Street on.
But as all dates do, this one came to an end. It was nap time. Until next time....

T minus 1 month
J: Can we get this car seat? It's super cute and on sale.
M: When will she need a new one?
J: At one year. But she also has to be 20 pounds, so maybe within the next three months? (I was referring to her weight, not age). But she can use it now, we just have the have it rear facing.
M: She won't be a year for awhile, maybe another one will go on sale before she needs one.
J: She turns one in less than a month.
Less than a month. That's all I've got left of baby-dom.
At 11 months Scarlett has 3 teeth and more on the way. This toy is her new favorite to chew on. She also feels so proud when she can actually grab one of those floating balls.
She also likes to "read", especially if Elmo is involved.

Scarlett loves to "help".
Don't judge my wardrobe skills. It was Sunday afternoon. I mean...that's not me...
I am slightly jealous of her room. For a long time it was in transition from office to room. Now it is fully Scarlett's room. One of my favorite things (besides having a couch in her room=best decision ever), is still not finished. It involves a frame from DI and I'm not quite sure what else yet, but I'll let you know when I am done. It's going to be amazing.
Other Scarlett-isms.
*She likes to go "Woah!" when she sees other babies up close.
*She still hates getting dressed.
*She wins the Longest-Eyelashes-Ever Award and Best-Fake-Cry Award.
*Refuses to eat baby food. Loves strawberries and oranges and anything you have.
*Chandler is hilarious to her.
*She claps (she actually started the day I posted this), blows kisses, says bye and waves, starting to try and stand on her own, and gives hugs when asked. But of course she only does these things if she's in the mood...which is maybe 20% of the time.
*Loves being chased/scared.
