I posted our green love seat on Craigslist. It always warns you of scammers before listing; I haven't been scammed before (or I should say that no one has tried to scam me). It's great how someone can think they are co clever...and yet, they are so not...

Silly Scammers...

What item were you wanting? I listed the price very clearly on Craigslist. Maybe you should send me your full name, address (Not P.O. Box), and phone number so I can report your sorry *^%.

I do not accept fake checks with an extra fake $25 for which I would get caught for (if only I was as stupid as you think I am). Cash only.

What the crap are you doing searching for a lame item on the complete opposite side of the country?? It's not that great of a deal. No one is going to fall for that. Private movers? Come on. You wouldn't be buying my second-hand item (although it is in great condition and very cute) if you had private movers.

p.s. Who are you to tell me what to do? If I sell my item I can leave my listing up for however long I want! Jerk. As for keeping the item in a very perfect condition...I can poop on my own item if I want!

p.p.s. Come to Portland, and for a fake $25 I'll give you a punch in the face. Now that's a deal.

The End

The end of summer is creeping closer as everyone mentions going back to school, the weather gets colder, and the sun suddenly disappears here in Portland.

.sigh.

I love summer. the bike rides. the hikes. the pool parties (if you're lucky enough to find an outdoor pool in Orgeon). swimming in the river. fishing. farmer's markets. camping. opening your windows at night. running in the early morning.

The changing colors of leaves is all a lie--you look at how pretty it is, enjoy the crisp air and the fact that it's jacket season, relax with the falling leaves, and then...BAM! It's winter and you'll never get another ounce of sunshine 'til April. Oh the trickery.

I usually like winter. snow. snowmobiling. skiing. snowboarding. snow tubing. bon fires. getting Christmas trees. wood burning stoves. sledding. making donuts in the empty church parking lot.

Not so in Portland. 6 months straight of rain and bad hair days. I guess I have a few more months to get over it and do some last minute summer things like bike down Mt. Hood and hike through Ape Cave!

I came across this website. This guy (Marshall Alexander) makes paper toys out of one continuous piece of paper. It's uh.may.zing. You can even print them for free and make them yourself! How generous! I think I found a beautiful boredom buster. Actually I would do this even if I wasn't bored...

Thayne, Wyoming: 6 months (collectively)
Terri's basement apartment (Orem, UT): 9.5 months
South of Campus (Provo, UT): 1.5 months
Tuxedo: 10.5 months!

and we'll be here for another 2 or 3 years! Once we're done here, it will be quite weird settling down and living somewhere permanent. I wouldn't mind living in a house again though...

Last week we celebrated my birthday! Hoorah! Michael got me an ice cream maker for my kitchenAid, and I LOVE IT! If you have any good recipes send them my way!




I made my own cake (like I do every year), because I think it's fun! This year I made an owl, and I was so special that I got two cakes!




My neighbor, Bethany, made me this awesome cake! It was all cute and skiwampy, so we nicknamed it the Dr. Seuss cake.



Blowing out the candles...and having a hard time cutting into my precious owl!





Well, not that kind of party...it was flour. You pack flour in a cup, then put a penny on your "flour mountain". You make cuts into it until the penny falls--whoever knocks it off has to get the penny with their face! We used to play this all the time at parties...

Can you believe this?

I should've shown you the last couple of days--in the hundreds! Heat index for the day: 109, ladies and gents. Pure ridiculousness! I am so thankful though to now have a window unit for our bedroom so we can at least sleep!

i need a bookworm's help

...not literally...I don't want worms. And nothing says "gansta" like tattooing "book worm" on your knuckles...

So, I have decided on a lot of things I want to do now, every week, every month, every month for a year, blah blah blah. I realize it's not the beginning of the year, which makes it an even better time to make new goals.

Anyway. One of my new goals is to read more books. GOOD books. Ones that click their heals...like so...

I am almost done with the Twilight series (not my fault I read them). I also read The Host out of boredom, and to my surprise it was actually pretty good. Read DaVinci Code, half way through Angels and Demons....

I really liked Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close--wouldn't recommend it for really "modest" people (I don't know how else to explain it, guess it has what people might deem inappropriate...). But it would probably would go on my favorites list...

I don't know...does anyone know of some good, more obscure, written-preferably-in-the-first-person, possibly classic books? I guess all I am asking is what is your all time favorite?
