insert clever title here
The Easter Bunny never makes it to Portland, because it rains to much. If he gets wet, he'll melt and die. I heard that somewhere. I promise.
Dragons deliver the goods around here.
Happy Easter!

i turn one, and what do i get?!?
I get told I am too skinny, poked with needles, and 2 shots! Totally scammed.
Whatever. I do what I want.
Like make Daddy into a step stool.
I am going to be a model-acrobat when I grow up.
P.S. Turns out I am 17 elbees and 15 ounces. 2 pounds until I get my car seat turned around. Can I get a woot woot!
dear jeb,
I think I may have fallen in love with you. When you first arrived in our home, you made me claustrophobic. I have to admit, you have a huge A. But that is beside the point...and I have gotten over it. I figured we would adopt you out, leave you to your humid Portland home while we moved on.
But I don't think I can move on. Not without you.
Especially so since you have a new friend.
You've squeezed yourself into our hearts. I guess we squeeze you into our moving truck.
Love,
Mom and Dad
P.S. Sorry we never dust you. I can't see up there.

a little party
We had a Little party for Little...because, ya know, she's Little. So, naturally everything was little. Or was it Little? Anyway.
These invites are about the size of a business card when folded up.
Thank yous to match the invites and Scarlett's snazzy bunting I used to decorate.
All the food was little. Bite size tortilla chips with mango salsa, cutie oranges, baby bananas, little pickles, mini saltines with cheese, mini reese's cups, mini animal crackers, and (not pictured) baby tomatoes, baby carrots, meatballs in awesomeness, and lil smokies wrapped in bacon dipped in brown sugar. Mmmmm. And those tissue paper pom poms? Thank you, Martha.
Her cake was little too. Like 5"-6" across. Then, I made mini cupcakes with parchment paper, because they looked awesome! Not really. I was just too lazy to go back to the store.
The kids were oogling the cupcakes the entire time Scarlett was eating hers. The minute Eden saw them (I had the fridge open getting other food out when they arrived), she put dibs on a pink one. I guess she couldn't wait any longer! And Jessie looks a little jealous.
Apparently, the only thing cake is good for is squishing it between your fingers.
Bahahahahaha. I love Chandler. And Chandler loves Scarlett. He always sticks up for her and says, "Scarlett's my girlfriend!"
Aww. Doesn't that face just break your heart? Eden didn't want to leave!
More pictures for your viewing pleasure...

a year already
Scarlett had a birthday, shout hooray!
I thought 1 year was going to be so monumental. Like when you turn 18 or 21. But then you are 18, 21, 30, etc. and you don't feel any different like you think you will. Well, Scarlett doesn't feel any different either. Same happy baby as always.
On her actual birthday we gave her her first loaded taste of sugar. She wasn't all that impressed.
She had more fun squishing the icing between her fingers.
We waited on the gifts for her party, but she did get some pretty cute big girl jammies after having an extra long bath (she still loves the bath, except getting her hair rinsed). I don't know how I feel about the PJ's. I miss the little feeties.
Going through my nightstand--one of her favorite hangouts.
...and squishing her fingers....
We finished the night watching Elmo. It's pretty sad when you ask her where something is, she acts like she has no idea what you're talking about. Ask her where Elmo is and she'll give you an Elmo book.
Scarlett at 12 months:
*She has become very liberal with her hugs and kisses (and slobber and boogers).
*She can carry on a "conversation". She babbles, you babble, she babbles back...
*Shakes her head "no" at very random times, especially when we talk about her.
*Points to EVERYTHING and says, "Da?" (interpreted as, "What's that?")
*Says bye, mama, dada, and possibly duck. I'm not sure yet if it's coincidence or not.
*Signs more.
*Favorite foods: whole wheat bread, cutie oranges, and cheese.
*Loves escaping from Dad and climbing the stairs when he's not watching.
