Memorial Day Extravaganza!

Michael has few days off during the year, and Memorial Day happens to be one of them. We wanted to do something fun so we headed out to Bonnie Springs.

We rode the little train. Scarlett thought it was super cool!

We met some new furry friends. The zoo was much smaller than I expected, but they have some cool animals like a cavy, wallaby, bob cat, wolf, and half-wolf-dog-thing.

The ugliest alpaca ever. And meeting baby birdies. See August's little finger? Pointing and babbling is the coolest over here right now.

Feeding the crazy deer.

August's thought bubble, "Seriously? Stop taking my picture."
P.S. It's all dirt and gravel. Umbrella stroller = worthless.

Jail—"Scarlett, make a sad face." Well done, Scarlett. Well done.

They did cheesie little skits every hour or something, and the black guy was always the one in trouble, in jail, being hanged. Coincidence?

Overall, it was a nice-should-go-at-least-once kind of adventure but a bit pricey ($10 for adults and $7 for under 12).

Oh yeah. And supposedly it's haunted. They told us after we had gone through all of it and after the merry go round moved on it's own while we were on it.

Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary Take 2

Here's Take 1.

We visited Gilcrease again, this time with some friends. A lady that worked there gave us a whole bag to feed the goats...from the outside. I learned my lesson from last time.

Gotta love Ellie's method of feeding the goats!

Hungry hungry goats!

August, the chick magnet.

"You've got some serious nose holes..."

Scarlett loved this little horsie. He was quite friendly.

Ellie did not enjoy him nearly as much.

And Brooklyn thought everything was hilarious!

We had such a fun time!

And just like that it was time to go home.

Kite Flying

100 degree weather is in our forecast the next week. Wishing for more days like these...

Perfect kite weather.

Perfect friends.

Perfect discoveries.

Perfect smiles.

And beautiful babies.

P.S. It's super hard to take pictures of people flying kites. And eating at the park with kids is stupid.

The End.

Monkey (not the greasy kind)

August not only is the polar opposite of Scarlett in looks, he is opposite of Scarlett in every possible way. And when I say every possible way, I mean every possible way.

The kid thrives on meat, although it doesn't show. Scarlett wouldn't touch the stuff until she was over 2. Last weigh in August didn't even meet the 5th percentile. So, we uncelebrated by having a McDouble. Dr.'s orders. Well, that's not exactly what he said...
August loves bath time! He stands and growls at the running water until you put him in. And he LOVES laying on his back. Scarlett to this day will not do this, but she does love water!

August is a fan of rides! (I guess they do have something in common...)

He also party crashes tea parties. My favorite quote from Ellie, "Scarlett, will you ask your mom to move your baby? He's eating the plates."

August is a climber and always "helps" me out during dinner.

Always.

I'm pretty sure he knows his was around the kitchen better than Michael.

August is also fearless! Everything is a challenge and something to be conquered.

These are just funny and had to put them in. Scarlett is obsessed with mustaches! August kept trying to eat them.

T-2 months to August's very 1st birthday.

Grease Monkey

When I think I need a project to work on, I think, "Oh, I'll go to JoAnn's and make a pillow." When Michael thinks he needs a project to work on he thinks, "I'm going to buy an Audi."

So, he does.

His dream when our kids get to be driving age (or years before since that's how long it'll take) is to have them rebuild the car they are going to drive. That's their right of passage to drive. Poor poor Scarlett is going to know more about cars than her future husband. Yeah, that's you Chandler.

It's not very often you marry a doctor, a mechanic, a mountain climber, a carpenter, a computer wiz, a repairman, a do-everything-yourself-er and they all happen to be the same person.
What can I say, I'm a lucky girl...

...and the owner of 4 cars. No, you didn't count wrong. There are only 2 drivers in this house.

And this is not one of them.

Scarlett's Birthday #3

I'm pretty sure Scarlett has watched every single Care Bear episode ever made...old school and new. So, this definitely warranted a Care Bear 3rd Birthday Party! Plus, I was super excited to actually do stuff that I've pinned to Pinterest

Playing pin the belly badge on the Care Bear. Nice placement, Scarlett. Very nice.

Gettin' our grub on. Yummy cheeseburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, chips, and pasta salad.

Playing after eating devouring nothing but chips.

Trying to break the indestructible pinata. Seriously. 6 kids. 1 bat. Not even a dent.
Chandler with a cedar plank + box cutter + some tearing + 5 more kids with a bat + 15 minutes = CANDY!

Blowing out the candles, with a little help from the wind.

I was so happy with how the cake turned out! (Not so happy while sticking those dang sprinkles to the sides though...sprinkles were everywhere!) When I finished, Scarlett was so excited she had to show Michael, "Dad! Come yook (look) at my cake! You say, 'Oh, WOW Car-yet (Scarlett)!'"

Opening presents! This is serious business that even the babies had to see what was going on!

This one picture pretty much sums up Scarlett—wearing her Funshine Bear dress + ALL the dress up things + the monster helmet she asked for (not the pony one, or the ladybug one, or even the unicorn one...she had to have the "red monser one") + candy. Happiest 3 year old ever!

Happy Birthday, my not so Little!
