We were feeling kind of like hermits, so we decided to take a trip to the Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery.
Fish Hatchery...
This is Herman the Sturgeon. In all his wonderful glory. He's 70 years old, weighs 450 lbs, and is 10 feet long. He didn't move once.
I think we'll come back in September or so. That's when the salmon should be spawning. More to see and do.
Bonneville Dam...
This thing is responsible for how we get electricity...who knew?
Fish ladder. The spawning salmon need to pass the 60 foot dam so the dam people kindly gave them a way, one foot at a time.

Cute trip! Dale and I saw spawning salmon in Alaska one time. We also saw a seal sneak attack one of the fish that was trying to spawn. SUCKER!!!
P.S. What's Mike doing these days?
