daddy graduated.

I don't really know what that means.

But I got to hang out with Chandler.

And eat snacks.

Pretty much some of my favorite things.

doctor humpherys

Wahoo! Michael graduated on Saturday.

And so did Brandon.

And Daniel too!
All of us started at the same time, live in the same apartment complex, and go to the same ward. Needless to say, we've become really good friends.

Diploma (aka blank sheet of paper) in hand.

Reciting the Chiropractic Oath.

All three boys leaving the ballroom.

Scarlett and Dr. Daddy.

Michael and his clinician/teacher, Dr. Tarnaski. He's pretty much...really awesome.

Congrats! (We had to make them stand like this...)

....and meet Satan's wife.

She was apparently the biggest news besides the graduation.

Before everything started:
Satan: Oh, she's so cute! But she (Scarlett) keeps bumping her head against my chair.
Me and Jeanie (aka Brandon's mom): I didn't even realize it. She seems fine...
S: Yeah, but it might getting kind of annoying after a while.
Me: Ooooooohhhhh. Sorry...

Whenever Scarlett or Chandler touched her seat she would swat their hands away.

As graduation started, Sterling started to cry. Saddest face ever, right?

Satan lady keeps giving Bethany the eye. She didn't just crane her neck around to do it either, half her body was turned towards us. She didn't turn back around until Bethany said, "Hi, nice to meet you!" Jeanie took Sterling out. Poor guy, it was nap time. Satan turns around and tells Bethany, "Thank you for taking him out." As to which Bethany told her, "You can just suck it." :) She didn't bother us after that.

Anyway. Happy Graduation! Here's to 3 really long years with no summers, that have somehow ended so soon!
P.S. Aren't Scarlett's boots the best?

dear mama,

This is how you're supposed to put my snacks in my stroller.

Stop putting the fishies with the animal crackers. It's just not natural. It will save me time in sorting them out. Thanks.

Love,
Scarlett

he's all growed up.

Aww. When did he get so big? This is Michael on his last day of classes at University of Western States.

He was mildly embarrassed taking this picture. It might have been the fact that he's standing in front of the door like a preschooler or it might have been because I was wearing my jammie pants with clowns on them and I look a little like Edward Scissorhands in the morning.

The most awesome graduation announcements ever. These ones were pretty good too though.

You can't see the shiny sheet that makes it look like an x-ray. But believe me, it's there. And it's cool. My first idea was to print them on overheads, but apparently printable overheads are from the days of the dinosaurs.

Michael's graduating, but we (yes, I mean we) won't be done until September (fingers crossed). There's still one quarter of visits/clinic hours left.

divorced so soon.

You remember when I told you about this? Of course you do. It was my last post. I fell in love and then it shattered my heart. It stopped zigging when I was zagging. Bummer. It went back to the store.

But good news! I got this instead.

And I love it even more. Especially since we got it $100 cheaper than online ($40 cheaper than Costco). Woot woot! It's the Brother XR7700.

It came with a walking foot and a darning foot too! Ruffler and hemmer still to come? It's small, but the stitching looks awesome, and it's quiet. The only thing I hate: that dumb dog. You can put your own picture in it to "personalize" your sewing machine. Pff. That's dumb.

But peace at last. I have something that works, that I love, and I didn't break the bank either.

victory!

She finally gave in and gave me the whole yogurt.

Mmm...Victory is sweet indeed.

old vs. new

For mother's day my wonderful husband turned my old sewing machine

into this....

I'll tell ya, he has magical powers.

I wasn't sold on it at first, especially when the Knittn Kitten lady told me that old singers used to be top of the line and not so much now that they moved over to China. She told me to get my old one fixed if I could, but we've already gone that route. And it's not worth it.

I spent a whole day going around like a mad woman going to all sorts of sewing machine shops to see if I could find anything else. Scarlett was a trooper.

First stop (after Knittn Kitten): Montavilla. These people sucked. The guy tried to sell me an $800 machine right off the bat. I pointed to one in my price range and he said, "Oh no no no that one is much too basic. How about this one?" as he lead me to a $400 machine. Then, as I left he started talking to Scarlett.

Montavilla Monster: What are you going to be when you grow up? Huh, baby?
Scarlett: ..............
MM: What are you going to be?
Scarlett: ................
MM to me: So what is she going to be?
Me: Umm. What?
MM: What are you going to have her be when she grows up?
Me: Uhhh....whatever she wants?
MM: Really?!?!
Me: Yeeeah......byyye....

Second Stop: Amazon, Costco, etc. I spent most of Scarlett's nap researching all sorts of sewing machines online.

Third Stop: Save Stores. These people rocked. I was considering a Brother cs6000 and the guy showed me the inside of it, and how it was built--it was a no go. I'm so glad I went there. Then, I fell in love with this brother.

It was only $300 out of budget. But I got to thinking and my machine did all the same things and then some, just without the bells and whistles (like a cool turny knob, a needle down button, and never having to bring up the bobbin thread--it does it on it's own). Pretty cool stuff, but not worth the extra dough.

Every store I went to I thought I would find something better, but instead I fell more and more in love with what I had. The more I sew with it the better it gets. It's been 2 weeks since I opened the box, and I am still super excited!

I'm looking into getting a rolled hem foot, a ruffler foot, and a darning foot. These would make awesome birthday gifts! :) Hint hint!

Speaking of feet. I think I need to find Scarlett's.
